The Dugi Otok island

The Dugi Otok island is a perfect combination of a man, nature and interesting cultural sights. Its area counts for 142 km2 and it is situated in the outer range of the Zadar island group of the North-Dalmatian Islands. Its name Dugi (long) suggests the length of the island which is 43 km. It is from 1 up to 4 km wide.
It is washed by several channels in the east – Lavdarski Channel, Ravski Channel, Zverinačky Channel – and by the open sea in the west. The south part of the island is opened to the sea by one of the most beautiful Mediterranean gulfs - Telašćica. Similarly picturesque gulf of Solišćica is located in its north part.
